Five Themes of Geography
The five themes of geography are an
educational framework for teaching geography. This educational framework was
adopted by the National Council for Geographic Education and the Association of
American Geographers in 1984. Most American social studies classrooms have
adopted the five themes in teaching practices. The five themes of geography
include place, location, human environmental interaction, region and movement.
